Facelift aesthetics, which is considered a purely cosmetic operation, can be performed for wrinkles, sagging skin, double chin and neck sagging. Facelift surgery can be performed in all areas of the face, including around the eyes, forehead, temples, cheekbones, cheeks and neck.

What is Face Lift Aesthetics?

Since facelift aesthetics is a delicate procedure, it requires proper planning. Sugar medications such as metformin should not be used from the day before facelift aesthetics and people with a history of thrombosis cannot undergo facelift surgery. In patients with herpes, it is recommended to take protective pills to prevent herpes a few days before and after surgery.

In facelift surgery, if the eyelid will also be treated, it is recommended to provide artificial drops, eye moisturising hel and sterile gauze. Patients who smoke should quit smoking at least 3 months before surgery, otherwise they cannot undergo facelift surgery.

What are the Stages of Face Lift Operation?

Since the use of local anaesthesia and sedation is not recommended during facelift aesthetics, general anaesthesia is performed. The incisions that pass just in front of the hair, in front of the ear and at the edge of the ear, return behind the ear and at the base of the hair. In cases that require a lot of work in the neck area, an incision under the chin is required. These incisions should be well maintained so that they are not obvious after surgery. The smas, which is the submuscular aponeurotic tissue of the face, is the connective tissue containing the superficial muscles of the face.

They are the thinnest and most superficial muscles of the face and are responsible for the appearance of wrinkles and aging because they are just under the skin. When the sarmas sag, the skin above it also falls and the skin sags. A rejuvenating effect is achieved by raising the smas. Before lifting the smas, the skin on it is lifted and after the skin is peeled off, the skin is loosened and adjusted to the higher face.

In stretching surgeries for the neck, the skin is loosened through the chin incision. Since the connection between the skin and fat in the neck is softer, it is easier than facelift.

After the smas is separated from the skin, it is raised approximately 3.5 cm and re-fixed. In this way, the facial and neck tissues are lifted upwards, volumising the cheek and smoothing wrinkles. After the Smas is placed, it is placed on the skin and re-sutured very thinly so that the scars are not visible.

How Does the Process Work After Facelift Surgery?

It is normal to experience nasal discomfort, headache and swelling within 24 hours after the operation. Nosebleeds are also normal in the first few days.

Swelling and bruising around the eyes are maximised 2 or 3 days after facelift aesthetics. You can reduce swelling by applying cold compress.

Bruises and swelling usually disappear within 2 weeks, but a small swelling that will not be noticed by anyone will not disappear for several months. Bandages are removed between 1 and 5 days after facelift aesthetics. Most of the sutures are removed on the fifth day, but hair sutures and staples are removed later. A few weeks after the operation, the appearance of the skin returns to normal.

Face Lift Types

There are different types of facelift aesthetics used to treat a specific area. These types of facelift can be performed alone or in combination. These are

•    Cervical Stretching: In this operation used to treat the neck and neck, sagging in the neck and neck area is corrected.

•    Face Lift: Jowl, age lines, wrinkles around the lips, sagging cheeks and cheekbones are stretched to give a younger appearance.

•    Temporal Lifting: Sagging in the temple area, wrinkles and sagging around the eyelids and eyes are corrected.

•  Forehead Lift: It is a type of facelift aesthetics used to correct the low forehead and wrinkles.

Who Can Have Facelift Aesthetics?

Although facelift aesthetics is generally preferred by people aged 40 to 50, there is no real age for facelift aesthetics. When the skin loses its former density and youthfulness, symptoms such as sagging cheekbones, cheeks, nose and lip folds are valid reasons to have facelift aesthetics. Anyone who wants to regain the freshness of their skin can have facelift aesthetics.
